Installation
We recommend installation is always completed by a professional certified installer who follows industry standard installation guidance.
Installation with Screws
What you need:
- Box cutter/sharp knife
- Measuring tape
- Circular saw or handsaw
- (Optional) Wooden cross slats, screws and screwdriver
- (Optional) Anchors for drywall
- Screwdriver
- Screws
Guide:
Step 1: Measure the width of the installation area to determine how many panels are needed. It is easy to cut through the acoustic felt with a box cutter if the final panel in sequence is too wide for the installation area
Step 2: Measure the height of the installation area and if required cut the panels to the desired size using a circular saw or a sharp handsaw.
Step 3: Clean and clear the installation area of screws and any obstacles you do not need.
Step 4: To ensure access to outlets or other wall mounted items, mark and cut holes in the panels before installation
Step 5: If using horizontal cross slats, install these by screwing them into studs in the installation area, spacing them at least 12 inches apart.
You do not have to use horizontal cross slats if you intend to screw the panels directly into studs or if you intend using wall anchors in drywall. If using anchors, install these into the drywall now.
Step 6: Mount the panels with screws onto the pre-installed cross slats/anchors or studs. Use 8-12 screws per panel, inserting them through the felt before tightening.
Step 7: If required, using a sharp knife or box cutter, cut the protruding edge of felt off the last panel, leaving a panel slat at the edge.
Tips:
- If using cross slats, we recommend board with a minimum thickness of 1 inch
- We recommend using screws that match the color of the felt.
- We recommend drywall screws with a diameter of at least 3/16 inch and a minimum length of 2 inches.
- We do not recommend installing TV mounts directly into the panel slats unless the panels are secured to the wall in studs or pre-installed cross slats. We recommend pre-cutting a hole in the panels where a TV mount is going to be installed and installing the mount directly into the wall as per the manufacturer’s instructions
Installation with Nails/Staples
What you need:
- Box cutter/sharp knife
- Measuring tape
- Circular saw or handsaw
- (Optional) Wooden cross slats, screws and screwdriver
- Nail gun or hammer
- Nails/Screws
You do not have to use horizontal cross slats if you intend to nail/staple the panels directly into studs.
Step 6: Mount the panels with nails/staples onto the pre-installed cross slats or wall studs. Use a minimum 12 nails/staples per panel, inserting them through the felt using a hammer or nail/staple gun.
Step 7: If required, using a sharp knife or box cutter, cut the protruding edge of felt off the last panel, leaving a panel slat at the edge.
Tips:
- If using cross slats, we recommend board with a minimum thickness of 1 inch
- We recommend using nails/staples that match the color of the felt.
- We recommend nails/screws with a minimum length of 1.5 inches.
Installation with Adhesive
What you need:
- Box cutter/sharp knife
- Measuring tape
- Circular saw or handsaw
- Industrial Adhesive
- Sandpaper/Sander
- De-greasing agent (such as ammonia)
Guide:
Step 1: Measure the width of the installation area to determine how many panels are needed. It is easy to cut through the acoustic felt with a box cutter if the final panel in sequence is too wide for the installation area.
Step 2: Measure the height of the installation area and if required cut the panels to the desired size using a circular saw or a sharp handsaw.
Step 3: Clean and clear the installation area of screws and any obstacles you do not need. Sand and de-grease the surface before installation.
Step 4: To ensure access to outlets or other wall mounted items, mark and cut holes in the panels before installation.
Step 5: Apply the adhesive evenly onto the felt on the back of the panel. Position the panel in the desired position, then press and hold firmly until it does not move. Please refer to the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions to determine how long it takes for the adhesive to fully bind. Repeat this process until all panels are installed.
Step 6: If required, using a sharp knife or box cutter, cut the protruding edge of felt off the last panel, leaving a panel slat at the edge.
Tips:
- We do not recommend installing TV mounts directly into the panel slats unless the panels are secured to the wall in studs or pre-installed cross slats. We recommend pre-cutting a hole in the panels where a TV mount is going to be installed and installing the mount directly into the wall as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Refer to the adhesive manufacturer's instructions to determine how long it will take the adhesive to fully bind. We do not recommend doing any additional work on the panels (for example, installing pictures, cutting holes, etc) until the adhesive is fully bound.

Warranty
WS Tiles ensures all our products are high quality. We carry out checks at multiple stages throughout the manufacturing process (including stress, heat, cut and visual checks/tests), upon receipt at our US Distribution Facility and before sale/shipping to customers.
Any products that fail checks or inspections at any stage are discarded.
Our products are stored in a suitable low humidity environment.
Once products leave our storage facility, we guarantee their condition for 30 days if stored in an appropriate inside area (garage, shed, warehouse, domestic property – covered outdoor areas are not included). If the panels are incorrectly stored or stored outside and/or are rained on, our warranty is automatically voided.
We cannot be held liable for damage during shipping. All panels are packed to required standards for shipping. If your product is damaged upon receipt, you must report it to us within 5 days of receipt so that we can file a claim with the shipping company and replace the damaged product. We cannot guarantee stock availability for replacement orders.
We cannot be held liable for, and we will not replace panels, that are shipped via Express services (FedEx Express, UPS Express, USPS Priority Mail). If you choose to have your panels delivered via an Express service, you forfeit your right to replacements.
We recommend that our products are installed as soon as possible upon receipt to avoid any potential issues.
Once installed, our products are expected to last a lifetime, but we cannot guarantee this and we will not be held liable for damage or defects due to poor installation; general wear, tear and mis-use; or natural/unnatural disaster.
We recommend installation is always completed by a professional certified installer who follows industry standard installation guidance. We cannot be held liable for the following:
- Poor installation methods (including but not limited to cutting);
- Poor installation materials/tools (including but not limited to cutting tools);
- Poor preparation of installation areas (including but not limited to not using appropriate preparation methods);
- Installation in unsuitable areas;
- Installation on floors;
- Installation completed by a non-certified installer;
- Any other errors made during installation;
- Any other mis-use of the panels.
All products have integrity and stress checks carried out during manufacturing and are expected to last a lifetime when installed correctly. If there are any issues post-installation, please seek advice from your installer.
Every batch of product has random cut testing completed at our manufacturing facility. All products are designed to be cut with appropriate tools. We are not liable for issues during cutting, as all product batches have passed cut testing using the specific appropriate equipment.
Each order shipped will contain panels from the same dye lot, but we cannot guarantee that subsequent orders will be from the same dye lot; as such we cannot guarantee that the color/pattern of each order will match exactly.
While our tiles are advertised according to North American standard measurements (inches), the tiles are physically cut to International standard measurements (millimeters). As such, the sizes are rounded up/down to the closest 0.5".
The use of automated machine cutting technology ensures that the size of panels is within the industry standard 6mm margin. This means, for example, a panel with a length of 600mm will have a range of 597mm to 603mm. Variations within this limitation are not considered manufacturing defects and professional installers are qualified to mitigate these variations.
